Highest FD Rates in Malaysia: Bank Rakyat

Updated: December 16, 2015 / Home » Business and Invest » Banking

My colleague told me that she had put her money in Bank Rakyat Fixed Deposit. After she done some research, she found that the bank’s Fixed Deposit pay the highest rate.

I feel pity because I just place my money to CIMB e Fixed Deposit online few days ago, and the rate is low if compared to this Fixed Deposit rate. But, what can I do now?

Bank Rakyat Fixed Deposit also known as Qiradh Investment Account-i or Akaun Pelaburan Am-i Qiradh.

Here I prepared a table to share the highest FD rate by Bank Rakyat.

Period of Investment (month)Qiradh Investment Account Rates (%)Bank Rakyat Term Deposit Account (%)

Although the rates are very interest, but I heard that Qiradh Investment Account-i is not explicit guarantee from PIDM. I can’t found any related information from their website. I wonder that it’s safe if we place our money in this type of Investment Account?

What do you think?

Update July 2015 :

Bank Rakyat is temporary stop the Qiradh General Investment Account and was replace by the Term Deposit Account-i.

Maybe you can deposit your FD with 3 months tenure if you want to reduce the risk. But i know, Bank Rakyat quite stable as my col had bought their fund quite sometimes ago and the revenue is 16% per year. The only down side is, if not mistaken, the fund is only open for bumi. Correct me if i am wrong.

If not mistaken, is the saham for the bank itself. Not sure is it still open for public. My col is lucky, he hit 50k in. Monthly get RM600+

Is Saham Bank Rakyat. It is only open for bumiputra. 15% revenue p.a. But now they only allow each person to buy 500 shares. 1 Share = RM1.

Too bad, it is only for bumiputra and now they only allow RM500 per person.

I really want to know why other bank can give such high interest to their customer, but Public Bank or Hong Leong Bank cannot?

Same like Amanah Saham, why Public Mutual cannot give high interest to the investor? Does the Public Mutual Manager worst than Amanah Saham Manager?
